Look Who Is Walking!

Happy Halloween!

Isaac turns 1

Our visit to Utah

We went to Utah over Labor Day weekend and Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Sue grilled for us and we visited with Uncle Richie and Aunt Michele.

Annual Trip to Breckenridge

This year we enjoyed the rides at Breckenridge during Ben's Annual CASE Conference.

A Summer Swim

We had the chance to swim quite a bit this summer.  The kids took swimming lessons the first 2 weeks of the summer.  We swam in
Chadron during our camping trip, and at the Blomstedt family gathering in Grand Island, during our visits at both Grandparents and during some hotel stays as well.

Beef or Chicken

One of the major community events in our small rural town is the Annual FFA Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry.  They serve approximately 400 lbs. of oysters and 200 lbs. of fried chicken breast and people patiently wait for up to 90 minutes to pay $8 per plate of the delicacy.

Last year, Ben explained to Bryce that we weren't going to be eating seafood, but that the "oysters" were the testicles from young bulls that are deep-fat fried and served with all the fixin's.  Bryces response was, "Gross, who would want to eat that?"

So this year, it was no surprise when Ben asked if the family wanted to come with him to the Oyster Fry and Bryce emphathically exclaimed that there was no way he was eating rocky mountain oysters.  Ben replied that they would also be serving fried chicken breast when Bryce said in a disgusted tone, "What's wrong with you people wanting to eat private parts?"

Needless to say, we got a big laugh at that and the family never did go to the Annual FFA Oyster Fry!

Isaac

My baby is almost 6 months old!  Where has the time gone?  With each passing month he captivated me with each new development.  I watched as he learned to smile, coo, laugh at patty cake and peek-a-boo, discover his hands (particularly his thumb), then his toes, and reach for hair and faces, roll over and scoot himself around.  And somewhere between feeding, holding, rocking, changing, cleaning, getting on the floor and playing, snuggling, smooching, healing (though still not completely), and the occasional bit of sleeping the days have sped by.  And I have truly enjoyed the blessing of being his Mom.  Just look at that smile! and those soft cheeks!

Blast from the Past

We took a trip back to Lincoln, NE where both Ben and I went to college.  We went to a track meet, visited some college friends, visited Janet's brothers, and took a few pictures while on campus.  You might recognize a pose from our engagement pictures (with a few extra little Huskers!)

All I Want For Christmas . . .

This year I already had everything that I wanted for Christmas before we even started opening our presents.
